Today, I continued working with the happy and curious horse. It has been dancing around on my studio table and has really spread joy around itself. It has almost been difficult to get it dressed in the black, because black it’s not exactly a joyous color. But now I had decided that it should be black, so that what it is now. To ”dress” a horse like this in black, I make an almost black mixture of polymer clay that I roll out on one of the tiniest setting on my pasta machine. Then I cover the horse’s body with these thin sheets and smooth out the ”seams”.
Now the horse is much quieter, and I will continue with different surface techniques to produce the effects that I want to appear against the black background.
