Most people know that horses do not have wings, but in my and many others imagination there are flying horses. Pegasus is a horse in Greek mythology and was the highest god Zeus servant, the one who picked up his thunderstorms and lightning. In order to do this, he obviously needed wings.
These stories – Odin’s horse Sleipner, who has eight legs and Zeus’ horse Pegasus who has wings – also tells us how important the horse was to man a long time ago. The main gods, therefore, did not have ordinary and anonymous horses, but very special horses with their own and powerful names.
It is not unusual that the horses I create get wings. It is an extra challenges to create wings with polymer clay because the wings should not get too heavy, they must be literally featherlike. At the same time polymer clay gives special possibilities because you can create feathery canes to place on the outside of the wings.
