Balancing Foal, Part 2 – Shimmering

tre_02 — Thin sheets of translucent clay with silver metal leaf in it.

tre_03 — Now the foal’s body is covered in translucent clay and silver. The blue and green hues come from alcohol ink.

tre_04 — Carefully sculpting the head. The eyes are made of small balls of black clay.

Do you remember Sleeping Wave? I had not used all the translucent clay with silver leaf metal in it that I made for the Sleeping Wave so I thought it would be a good idea to use it on this little foal. It is not shimmering now, because the clay is not translucent before it it cured, but in a couple of blog posts you will be able to see the shimmering result.
