Happy Horse needed a tail – and this is how it was made

The tail for Happy Horse was made of the same thin sheet of clay that I used for the skin to Happy Horse and her passenger. With a knife I cut feather-shaped pieces that I comined together on a steel wire covered with a thin layer of clay.

Before I mounted it on the horse I cured it, otherwise it had been very hard to finish the sculpture without the risk of ruining the tail.
